Your Data, Your Control
All your data files are stored in your own Google Drive account. We never store your raw data on our servers. You maintain complete ownership and control over your information.
Browser-Side Processing
Data analysis runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly (Pyodide). Your sensitive data never leaves your device during analysis, providing an extra layer of privacy.
Secure Authentication
We use Google OAuth 2.0 for authentication, leveraging Google's enterprise-grade security. We never see or store your Google password.
HTTPS Everywhere
All connections to SpanInsight are encrypted using TLS 1.3. Your data is protected in transit between your browser and our services.
How We Handle Your Data
Files Stay in Your Drive
When you import data, it's fetched directly from your Google Drive to your browser. We don't store copies on our servers.
Analysis Runs Locally
Python code executes in your browser using Pyodide (WebAssembly). Your raw data never touches our servers during analysis.
Minimal Metadata Storage
We only store essential metadata like project names, analysis code, and user preferences. Never your actual data files.
You Choose What's Public
Dashboards and publications are private by default. You explicitly choose what to share publicly.
Google Scopes We Request
When you connect your Google account, we request the following permissions:
Access only files that you explicitly select or create with SpanInsight. We cannot see your other Drive files.
Access to a hidden app-specific folder in your Drive for storing application settings.
Your email address and basic profile for account identification. We never send emails without your consent.
